Brad Fitzpatrick 5ef3713c9f cmd/vet: add subtestnames analyzer; fix all existing violations
Add a new vet analyzer that checks t.Run subtest names don't contain
characters requiring quoting when re-running via "go test -run". This
enforces the style guide rule: don't use spaces or punctuation in
subtest names.

The analyzer flags:
- Direct t.Run calls with string literal names containing spaces,
  regex metacharacters, quotes, or other problematic characters
- Table-driven t.Run(tt.name, ...) calls where tt ranges over a
  slice/map literal with bad name field values

Also fix all 978 existing violations across 81 test files, replacing
spaces with hyphens and shortening long sentence-like names to concise
hyphenated forms.

Alex Chan 5b62f98894 ipn, cmd/tailscale/cli: allow setting FQDN sans dot as an exit node
In #10057, @seigel pointed out an inconsistency in the help text for
`exit-node list` and `set --exit-node`:

1.  Use `tailscale exit-node list`, which has a column titled "hostname"
    and tells you that you can use a hostname with `set --exit-node`:

    ```console
    $ tailscale exit-node list
     IP                  HOSTNAME                               COUNTRY            CITY                   STATUS
     100.98.193.6        linode-vps.tailfa84dd.ts.net           -                  -                      -
    […]
     100.93.242.75       ua-iev-wg-001.mullvad.ts.net           Ukraine            Kyiv                   -
    # To view the complete list of exit nodes for a country, use `tailscale exit-node list --filter=` followed by the country name.
    # To use an exit node, use `tailscale set --exit-node=` followed by the hostname or IP.
    # To have Tailscale suggest an exit node, use `tailscale exit-node suggest`.
    ```

    (This is the same format hostnames are presented in the admin
    console.)

2.  Try copy/pasting a hostname into `set --exit-node`:

    ```console
    $ tailscale set --exit-node=linode-vps.tailfa84dd.ts.net
    invalid value "linode-vps.tailfa84dd.ts.net" for --exit-node; must be IP or unique node name
    ```

3. Note that the command allows some hostnames, if they're from nodes
    in a different tailnet:

    ```console
    $ tailscale set --exit-node= ua-iev-wg-001.mullvad.ts.net
    $ echo $?
    0
    ```

This patch addresses the inconsistency in two ways:

1. Allow using `tailscale set --exit-node=` with an FQDN that's missing
    the trailing dot, matching the formatting used in `exit-node list`
    and the admin console.

2. Make the description of valid exit nodes consistent across commands
    ("hostname or IP").

Andrew Dunham bcceef3682 cmd/tailscale/cli: allow fetching keys from AWS Parameter Store
This allows fetching auth keys, OAuth client secrets, and ID tokens (for
workload identity federation) from AWS Parameter Store by passing an ARN
as the value. This is a relatively low-overhead mechanism for fetching
these values from an external secret store without needing to run a
secret service.

Usage examples:

    # Auth key
    tailscale up \
      --auth-key=arn:aws:ssm:us-east-1:123456789012:parameter/tailscale/auth-key

    # OAuth client secret
    tailscale up \
      --client-secret=arn:aws:ssm:us-east-1:123456789012:parameter/tailscale/oauth-secret \
      --advertise-tags=tag:server

    # ID token (for workload identity federation)
    tailscale up \
      --client-id=my-client \
      --id-token=arn:aws:ssm:us-east-1:123456789012:parameter/tailscale/id-token \

Will Norris 3ec5be3f51 all: remove AUTHORS file and references to it
This file was never truly necessary and has never actually been used in
the history of Tailscale's open source releases.

A Brief History of AUTHORS files
---

The AUTHORS file was a pattern developed at Google, originally for
Chromium, then adopted by Go and a bunch of other projects. The problem
was that Chromium originally had a copyright line only recognizing
Google as the copyright holder. Because Google (and most open source
projects) do not require copyright assignemnt for contributions, each
contributor maintains their copyright. Some large corporate contributors
then tried to add their own name to the copyright line in the LICENSE
file or in file headers. This quickly becomes unwieldy, and puts a
tremendous burden on anyone building on top of Chromium, since the
license requires that they keep all copyright lines intact.

The compromise was to create an AUTHORS file that would list all of the
copyright holders. The LICENSE file and source file headers would then
include that list by reference, listing the copyright holder as "The
Chromium Authors".

This also become cumbersome to simply keep the file up to date with a
high rate of new contributors. Plus it's not always obvious who the
copyright holder is. Sometimes it is the individual making the
contribution, but many times it may be their employer. There is no way
for the proejct maintainer to know.

Eventually, Google changed their policy to no longer recommend trying to
keep the AUTHORS file up to date proactively, and instead to only add to
it when requested: https://opensource.google/docs/releasing/authors.
They are also clear that:

> Adding contributors to the AUTHORS file is entirely within the
> project's discretion and has no implications for copyright ownership.

It was primarily added to appease a small number of large contributors
that insisted that they be recognized as copyright holders (which was
entirely their right to do). But it's not truly necessary, and not even
the most accurate way of identifying contributors and/or copyright
holders.

In practice, we've never added anyone to our AUTHORS file. It only lists
Tailscale, so it's not really serving any purpose. It also causes
confusion because Tailscalars put the "Tailscale Inc & AUTHORS" header
in other open source repos which don't actually have an AUTHORS file, so
it's ambiguous what that means.

Instead, we just acknowledge that the contributors to Tailscale (whoever
they are) are copyright holders for their individual contributions. We
also have the benefit of using the DCO (developercertificate.org) which
provides some additional certification of their right to make the
contribution.

The source file changes were purely mechanical with:

    git ls-files | xargs sed -i -e 's/\(Tailscale Inc &\) AUTHORS/\1 contributors/g'

Nick Khyl a8055b5f40 cmd/tailscale/cli,ipn,ipn/ipnlocal: add AutoExitNode preference for automatic exit node selection
With this change, policy enforcement and exit node resolution can happen in separate steps,
since enforcement no longer depends on resolving the suggested exit node. This keeps policy
enforcement synchronous (e.g., when switching profiles), while allowing exit node resolution
to be asynchronous on netmap updates, link changes, etc.

Additionally, the new preference will be used to let GUIs and CLIs switch back to "auto" mode
after a manual exit node override, which is necessary for tailscale/corp#29969.

Andrew Lytvynov c9179bc261 various: disable stateful filtering by default (#12197)
After some analysis, stateful filtering is only necessary in tailnets
that use `autogroup:danger-all` in `src` in ACLs. And in those cases
users explicitly specify that hosts outside of the tailnet should be
able to reach their nodes. To fix local DNS breakage in containers, we
disable stateful filtering by default.

Andrew Lytvynov e25f114916 ipn,cmd/tailscale/cli: support hierarchical MaskedPrefs (#10507)
Some fields if `ipn.Prefs` are structs. `ipn.MaskedPrefs` has a single
level of boolean `*Set` flags, which doesn't map well to nested structs
within `ipn.Prefs`.

Change `MaskedPrefs` and `ApplyEdits` to support `FooSet` struct fields
that map to a nested struct of `ipn.Prefs` like `AutoUpdates`. Each
struct field in `MaskedPrefs` is just a bundle of more `Set` bool fields
or other structs. This allows you to have a `Set` flag for any
arbitrarily-nested field of `ipn.Prefs`.

Also, make `ApplyEdits` match fields between `Prefs` and `MaskedPrefs`
by name instead of order, to make it a bit less finicky. It's probably
slower but `ipn.ApplyEdits` should not be in any hot path.

As a result, `AutoUpdate.Check` and `AutoUpdate.Apply` fields don't
clobber each other when set individually.

`tailscale up` or `tailscale set`. Instead, the preference is set when
turning the web client on and off via localapi. In a subsequent commit,
the pref will be used to automatically start the web client on startup
when appropriate.
